Posted by norgams- i at January 17, 2007, 12:03 amHow many reunions have I missed so far? I know I have attended two of 10 years after high school. I was living in Japan at that time -ssooo many years ago - two years after that my baby girl was born … fast forward… she is now 22 years old and will graduate from college in June 2008. Never decided to have another one so she is my only child and my bestfriend. She will finish her last quarter in Italy. She is a petite replica of me. *smiles*
I am just thrilled upon finding this site! Whoever came up this wonderful idea and initiated the creation of this blog - I thank you! Holidays here in the US are always hard for me. I tend to bury/busy myself with work during the month of December. If I were to choose, I would leave town and play golf somewhere where it is warm - but my daughter usually comes home during the holidays and with step-grandkids (my husband’s grandchildren) around I have to play Lola and set-up a festive home. Until then classmates…. keep smiling and keep the faith strong! GinaO.
Woooowww.. Giiiiinnnaaaaa!!!
)))) kumusta na man ka Day?… it’s a good thing u found our blog!.. keep posting!.. keep us all updated
)
Nora, Kumusta! I text message you a while ago but I don’t think it went through. I printed a portion of your blog to read the messages at my leisure - 26 pages total! I could not even staple them together. I stand corrected. Ruth Guzmana is in New York not in California. How’s everyone? It is Tuesday evening here in good old USA. Just got home from work - had my shrimp dinner and rice and now munching on boiled peanuts. I am doing great! I commute by train daily. Could no longer stand the traffic and gas price ($3.19/gal). To commute by car to my work will take me at least one hour, but it will only take me 20 minutes by train. It gives me time to read and just relax and enjoy the scenery along the way.
Life is good because God is good and His love endures forever! I enjoy being a career woman and a community volunteer. I am also active in my church as a Secretary, Mentor, Bible Study Teacher, and Website Developer. I have been a US Citizen for 15 years - been living here in the US for 20 years - (wow, that long?) Believe me, I might be American in some ways, but deep down inside I am sooooo Pinay! My tastebud is still veryBsaya! A meal is never complete without rice. Tsada ug lami man gyod ang ato - labi na kinilaw nga barilis ug sinubang isda! I divorced my first husband (father of my only child) in 1996. I would never go through a divorce battle ever again! It was messy! I won custody of my daughter. It was a struggle being a single mom and trying to make ends meet but through the grace of the Lord, Jesus Christ, I was able to provide for myself and for my daughter. We made it through - we are survivors! She will graduate from college in June 2008. I remarried three years ago to a wonderful Irish Man. He is the one who encouraged me to learn the game of golf. I hesitated at first because I thought golf is a boring game. I was entirely wrong! I took a few golf lessons and now I can outdrive and outscore my husband. I enjoy the game - 4 and 1/2 hour at the golf course without cellular phones, noise, etc is great!
As a mentor, I encourage others to improve continually. My personal slogan is “every passing moment is a chance to change.” I believe that God has given us the choice to change 360 degrees in order to achieve the fullness of God’s inheritance. Good works did not insure me a place in heaven, but it is through accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior that I have been saved and became a child of God. Whatever I do, I do it to glorify God’s kingdom.
Until then. Be blessed my classmates! May your smile be a lighthouse to those who need direction! GinaO.
